Het verzorgen van een geliefde in die periode is zwaar, ook al is er hulp van de huisarts en thuiszorg of andere betrokken zorgverleners. Als het levenseinde nadert, wordt de zorg over het algemeen intenser en intensiever.<\/p>\n<p>De zogenaamde VPTZ-vrijwilligers (Vrijwllige Palliatieve Terminale Thuiszorg) bieden hulp bij u thuis of\u00a0 in de instelling waar u verblijft. Zij bieden onder andere hulp bij persoonlijke verzorging, voorlezen of waken. De vrijwilligers verrichten geen medisch, verpleegkundige handelingen of zware huishoudelijke taken. Zij vullen datgene aan wat familie en vrienden zelf doen.
